Veronica Shea is a singer, actor, producer and digital marketer passionate about storytelling and sharing authentic onstage connection with audiences.

She is attracted to art in all forms and stages of production, from new play readings to full-scale operas; from experimental contemporary music to classical choral work. In every artistic arena, Veronica’s dedication to engaging deeply with material and creating safe spaces to take artistic risks enables her to perform and produce theater that is uniquely personal.

Originally trained in musical theater and dance, Veronica’s transition to opera has enabled her to approach the genre with freedom and versatility uncommon in the genre. Her diverse interests as a performer have led her to perform in a wide variety of roles and productions. Recent roles include Musetta in Light Opera of New Jersey’s production of La Bohéme, two world premieres (Juno in & Aeterna and La Direttrice in Pietà) at the Narnia International Vocal Arts Festival, Rosalinda in Eccentric Theater Company’s Die Flede rmaus, Mabel in both Ridgewood Gilbert & Sullivan’s and Summit Chorale’s The Pirates of Penzance, and Julie Jordan in Off-Brand Opera’s Carousel.

As a singer, Veronica is also highly sought-after for her concert and oratorio work. She is frequently featured as a soloist with Summit Chorale, Choral Art Society of NJ, Vocala, Masterwork Chorus, Clarum Sonum, High Mountain Presbyterian Church, and Our Lady of Czestochowa. Some favorite solo engagements have included Beethoven’s Mass in C, Fauré’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass and Paukenmesse, Mozart’s Requiem, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Poulenc’s Gloria, and Saint-Saëns’ Christmas Oratorio. She collaborates frequently with (slightly) Tipsy Opera, a guerilla-style operatic cabaret based in Jersey City, and takes pride in delving into new rep and making music with new colleagues.

Veronica’s passion for boundary-pushing in theater extends to her role as a producer. In 2016, Veronica founded Eccentric Theater Company (ETC.) alongside her mother, with their first show selling out at Fringe NYC and transferring to Soho Playhouse as a part of the Fringe Encores Series. In 2021, she founded Off-Brand Opera, a company dedicated to creating intersectional and genre-bending interpretations of new and classic work. She is also the Director of Marketing at The York Theatre Company and the President of the Board of Governors for Ridgewood Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company.

Veronica earned an M.B.A. with Honors from Quantic School of Business, an M.A. in Creative Business Leadership at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), and her bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University in “learning to lie” (aka a triple major in theater, psychology, and legal studies with a concentration in marketing).
